If you have not chinese fonts installed on your system, you can install it yourself. There are many free fonts available on the internet. For example, if you want to make a 24 point KAITI(؟،جم) fonts, you can get bdf font or hbf font from
ftp://ifcss.org/pub/software/fonts/
for GB encoding, you should get file cck24.hbf,cclib.k24 and ccsym.24, then following procedures below:
> hbftobdf cck24.hbf > cck24.bdf (hbftobdf is available in ftp://ifcss.org/pub/software/info/HBF-1.1.tar.gz or some system) > bdftopcf < cck24.bdf > cck24.pcf (bdftopcf is available on many unix systems) > compress cck24.pcf ---> cck24.pcf.Z > mkfontdir ---> in the font directory
Usually, one need not use alias names when use browsers like
netscape. When using Chinput, you'd better make alias names
to avoid long font name. Then
you should create a file named "fonts.alias". e.g.,
you can add these lines into your file:
hanzigb16st -cclib-song-delicate-r-normal--16-150-78-78-c-160-gb2312.1980-0 hanzigb24st -cclib-song-medium-r-normal--24-240-72-72-c-240-gb2312.1980-0 hku16et -hku-fixed-medium-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-big5.et-0 jiskan16 -jis-fixed-medium-r-normal--16-150-75-75-c-160-jisx0208.1983-0 jiskan24 -jis-fixed-medium-r-normal--24-230-75-75-c-240-jisx0208.1983-0to get alias name "hanzigb16st"...
