IVOA的春季年会都在5月进行，随之每年的5月也便成了自己对外出访的惯例。2010年5月16日至22日，首次登上了加拿大这枫叶的故乡，欣赏了维多利亚花园般的春色，追忆了温哥华冬奥会的胜景。

从2003年首次踏出国门，掐指一算这次出访可以说是一个里程碑，因为自己心目中的发达大国都已经雁过留声了：从南半球的澳洲，到欧洲的英法德意俄西捷、亚洲的印日马，直到美洲的美国和加拿大。估计以后拜访的国家名单不会再快速增长了，取而代之的是对每个国家不断深入的了解。
